    MYSQL front end development

    Good Morning.
As a nkind of novice. I was wondering if there was any software going around to develop a front end for a mysql database. Nothing fancy just to be able to add delete report records etc similar to msaccess etc. Anything free would be great but reasonably priced. I know this has probably been asked before but just wondered to save trudging through the forums. I have and can create the database myself without much trouble.
Thank you for any advice given.

(moved from PHP... though it maybe shouldn't have been)

Are you asking about a program you can use to interact with a database? Or about a library to help you write a PHP application that lets a user edit stuff?

Well whatever is easier to use preferably a windows prog but a library would be good too. All i am doing is setting up a database for results for races of pigeons and would like to make a dashboard as such to allow a user to input details add records etc.
    Thank you.

(and back to PHP we go)

    They're two different things...

You're talking about the library one: you write code, the library helps you write less code.

Editing interfaces like this are so varied that I'm 99% sure you won't find anything that's good enough or works well enough or generates what you want. You say you want to expand your skills? Great. PHP has PDO which makes it relatively easy to work with a database, and there are frameworks that help out with the more tedious work so it can a bit easier still, but don't get me wrong: you'll be making an application.

Ok so it's basically learn php. Sounds like a time consuming thing, will have a go and see what happens. Thanks again. Will see if there are any pre made systems available. Fingers crossed to get me going.

That's right it's for an end user to enter results.

Yeah, it wasn't clear to me, either.

No, there are other languages. I assumed you posted in PHP because that's what you were looking at, but I guess you just picked the first forum in the list?

PHP is probably the easiest to learn and get going. Python and Ruby are there too but are also more complicated. And then there's far more like C#.NET and VB.NET which I doubt you'll want to work with, given how much you already don't want to do this.

You mentioned windows. In windows, Microsoft Access makes a very good, even excellent, front-end to mysql. At least it used to be, I haven't created apps in Access for 10 years or so. Look into .adp (access data project).
