I've recently built PHP 3.0.12 for my RH5.2
box. I was able to build a mod for Apache 1.3.6 which hooked into a Postgres db fine, but now
I can't seem to do that for MySQL (3.21.33b).
A simple PHP program using mysql_connect always fails, and both "Out of Memory"
and "Segmentation fault" errors appear in the httpd error log. Any clues here would be most
    helpful...I'm completely out of ideas.

    Thanks,

To follow up on my own post a few weeks ago,
it turns out glibc under RH5.2 is buggy.
After upgrading to RH 6.0 , I was able to
compile MySQL and PHP3 with no problems.

    Hope this helps someone, somewhere!
