As my workplace has got PHP3 installed, I'm trying to goof around with some MySQL features. But: Trying to connect to MySql I get a "Unsupported function" message. This happens whether I try mysql_connect() or the mysql_pconnect() command. I'm trying to embed the PHP in HTML, everything worked until now. What have I done wrong? Is there a way to work around unnsupported functions? Help would be greatly appreciated.

php had to be compiled with mysql support, sounds like you need to recompile adding the flag "--with-mysql"
