I have given up on crappy personal web server and moved to omni cos its php installation is supposed to be easy.

I did the steps under "General Installation tips" and "Omni HTTPd 2.0b1 for Windows" found at http://www.umesd.k12.or.us/php/win32install.html
When i load my .php3 page i get this error:

Fatal error: Unable to open C:OMNIHTTPDHTDOCS/ in - on line 0
    No input file specified.

Any1 know why this is happening or how to fix it?

I don't know what is happening, but unchecking 'Preserve PATH_INFO'under the Configuration|Web Server Global Settings|Advanced fixed it for me.

Following on from my last email: I have recently downloaded PHP4, and have it almost working with
Omnihttp and MySQL, under Win 98.

    DCOM98 is installed.

    MySQL is installed in c:MySQL.
    PHP4 is installed in c:httpdphp4.
Each works correctly from the DOS prompt, with correct html scripts being redirected into a text file.

When I run a PHP script from either the Server PC or from another PC on
the local network, a response is received. However, it does not contain
any PHP $variables that should be returned.

The same scripts work correctly when run on our ISP's server.

I suspect that the problem may lie with passing arguments correctly via
Windows and PHP. It is not clear from the manual and examples whether any associations are needed in Windows for .php files.

Is there an obvious check that I should make? Any guidance would be
    appreciated.

    Hey Raj
    Make a .php file.
Eg <? echo "hello"; ?>, and save it to your webserver root. Then open up your browser and point it to http://localhost/phpfile.php and if it displays "hello" then it works.

You can also use a file with: <?php phpinfo(); ?>. This also gives a lot of info about the installation.

think PHP should be outside of your webroot ie Chp4 - on another note I have omni 2.05 and it appears to have broken NS(4.07) but not 6? anybody else with problems- my old version worked fine.

php3 extensions are not needed in your coding

    .php does the trick
