    You were exactly right: there were two separate instances happening. The reason I was getting an echo back (and not passing the POST) is that it was returning to the original FLASH that sent it.

    To overcome this, I appended it to the URL via FLASH:

    getURL("Carts.html?cartnum="+i, "_blank");
    Works like a champ!

    $_GET is probably best for you, you're right. Also look into the PHP session, though that's harder.
