Right now, to make the server I am using parse any PHP code, I have to make the extension of the file "PHP3". I would like to change this to make it parse "PHP" and "PHTML" extensions also. I also would like to know how to designate an opening page to somthing other than "index.html". Any help in these areas would be appreciated.

Go to your httpd.conf file in your apache directory. Search for php3 (you'll find a line with application. Just add the extensions to that line.

At "DirectoryIndex" add whatever you want your opening page to be.

    DirectoryIndex index.html index.php default.htm
