    When I send the mail sometimes I get HTML codes in the body and escape sequences in the subject... why? i would have a subject like

    My Company's Newsletter

    and it would appear like
    My Company's Newsletter
    then in the body
    Hello "rob"
    would be ’rob’

    any clue on what is going on?

    Do you use a stripslashes() before you send the mail.

    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica">code:</font><HR><pre>
    $body = stripslashes($body);
    [/code]

    Might work. Use it on the variable containing the text for your body and subject before you send it.
