    Does a mail server have to be on the server if I use mail send thru PHP ?

    I had a mail script on PHP on one server where it worked correctly. Now on another server where we are shifting, same sript doesnt seem to work. The old server was an apache on Linux, now new server is on IIS on Windows NT.

    Is this any reason, and if so how to correct ?

    On Win32 this is how the mail settings in php.ini should appear
    Mailserver is any mailserver that you use. I frequently use my own ISP for testing.
    sendmail_from, is the address you want to send from. path is of course, empty.

    <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana,Arial,Helvetica">code:</font><HR><pre>
    SMTP = mail.server.net
    sendmail_from = email@server.net
    sendmail_path =
    [/code]

    I know that there is a way to do this with a command line program like sendmail for win, or Blat, but I don't have the specifics here at work.
