    PHP Reconfig with mysql...

First off, I'm a n00b, and I'm proud to admit it

anyways, I just installed Redhat Linux 8.0 on my computer, and it came with PHP and MySQL. Problem is, it didn't configure PHP with MySQL, and I'm pretty sure that they didn't include the header files for MySQL. My question:

    Should I...
    a) Remove PHP and MySQL, and compile from a different source
    b) Remove PHP only and find a version that already is configured with MySQL (is this possible?)
    c) Anything a newbie didn't think of (which is a LOT)

then compile from the latest here:
    http://www.php.net/downloads.php
google for tutorials if you're not sure what to do.
