php3/win and crypt()

hey all,
i have a problem with php3/win and the crypt() function. that is: it doesn't work at all, php gives this error:

Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function crypt() in blahblah...

now, i know that i have to load the php3_crypt.dll module, and also do that in my php3.ini, but it keeps telling me that it's an unsupported thing..

anyone had the same problem, or knows of a solution?

crypt() is a UNIX function. It won't work under winblows.

well, it _SHOULD_ work, why else would they put this module php_crypt.dll in the windows distribution? seems to me that the unix system call crypt is replaced by that?
