    Read data from a local database and insert into a database on a on online serve

    Hi;

    I have the hardway but I like to know the better way:

    Please give me a hint on how to do this:

    Read data from a local database and insert some of the columns of the tables into a database on a on online cloud server.

    I might have to use terminal maybe?

    Thank you.

    I don't know of any DBMS that can maintain a connection to a second server for querying and such.

    Export and import.

    Are they on different servers? Or put another way, do you need to use a different hostname for each connection?
