Reading from textarea input

Ok here's the scenario:

I have a textarea input box that I am trying to read into a file. The file part is not a problem, however, I am trying to figure out how to detect the line-breaks in the textarea box and get rid of them.

Does anyone know how this can be accomplished?

Hi, i am not such an expert, i'm just a newbie, and got the same problem.

here's a copy of the answer i found :If you output it as HTML it will do that just as if you typed that in your HTML code (returns not displayed).
You can use the HTML <PRE> tag or you can use PHP's nl2br() function which converts new lines to <br>s
