I have a user authorization system set up with PHP3 with login and authorization in each page for a private website. It works perfectly and keeps track of logins and emails, etc.

However, there is one directory which I cannot protect with PHP code because it is a bulletin board (UBB) and so I need to protect the directory structure with .htaccess.

But I don't want users who are already logged into the site to have to login with the Apache authorization popup window also.

How can I pass their username and password to the Apache HTTP authorization system (add to the header?) so that a window does not pop up asking them for username and password?

I've tried everything I can think of and would sure appreciate any ideas anyone has.

Thanks,

Randy
