    Snmp snmprealwalk(): No response from udp6:::1

    Hi,

    Im trying to figure out how to poll snmpd from php. The documentation is very sparse and difficult to grasp.

    The most simple implementation I can come across is

    PHP Code:
    echo snmprealwalk("localhost""public""IF-MIB::ifName");
    It should return an array of available interfaces but php spews out an error

    Code:
    PHP Warning: snmprealwalk(): No response from udp6:::1
    From this I can conclude that IF-MIB::ifName returns IPv6 capable interfaces. Question is, how do I poll IPv4 capable interfaces?

    It could also mean the snmp agent is not running or is not compatible with the request. I suspect this is not a PHP issue but rather an snmp agent or MIB issue.
    There are 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

    snmpd is for sure running
    Code:
    snmpwalk -v 3 -u read_only_user -a SHA -A password -x DES -X password -l authNoPriv localhost | less
    yields.

    Code:
    SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Linux odp 3.8.4-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Mar 20 22:10:25 CET 2013 x86_64
