Thanks. I made the bad assumption that the needle could be a string. Much appreciated. Time to absorb regex which I learned years back but have since forgotten due to lack of use.
Now that I look at the manual I can see the reason I got confused. Under Pattern it says: "The pattern to search for, as a string." I took that at face value.
However, under the main definition it says, "Searches subject for a match to the regular expression given in pattern."
I would argue that could have been worded more clearly for us noobs. <grin>
