    Dear All,

I need to uninstall PHP3, but I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help?

How could I uninstall php3 by rpm? and by tar file?

    Thx a lot

    Hi,

RPM is easy, rpm -e <program name>. Program name is likely to be something like php, php3 or php4.

Tar is slightly more difficult. I am not sure about this so you might want to seek backup on this from someone else but deleting is the only way I know. Sometimes the Makefile comes with a uninstall but I just had a look and php doesn't.

The command is usually something like

    <orig install dir> ]# make uninstall

However, after a quick look the main directories that need to be deleted are as follows:
    /usr/local/include/php
    /usr/local/lib/php
    /usr/local/php.ini

Do a locate on php and you should get a general idea of the install directories on your system.

    I hope this helps.

    Falcon
