I use a virtual server running Apache with PHP3 as a module. I do NOT have access to the php3.ini file, but DO have full access to the .htaccess and httpd.conf files. The hosting company has not installed browscap.ini (and seems to have never heard of it) but I have placed it in my space and tried using "php3_browscap" directives to point to the location. PHPInfo() picks up that location in the "local" (but not "master" fields) but Get_Browser() does not work and causes server errors.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Seems that this would be a most useful function to allow me to eaily serve pages appropriate for some of the odd-ball browsers out there (e.g., WebTV and early AOL).

Any thoughts would be MOST welcome.

/s/ John
