does any body know of a web based email system coded in PHP, somthing similar to hotmail. I want to set this up at carporn.com all i need for now is something basic so i can start on getting sign-ups, we are willing to work out some sort of deal if any of you would like to help out with this system.

Ive been working on a web based email system.

It only recieves. I have created the SMTP code, but dont want people abusing my work for spam.

So how did you make the code to recieve mail?? Some sockets, objects, or else?? I ma really interested, so if you could answer this...

PHP includes some fine IMAP/POP3 and NNTP functions
with these, you can do everything quite simple...

I simply connected using sockets to the server (fsocketopen i believe).
used fputs to give my query string.
fgets to recieve the response.
Then used string manipulation to read the response.
