I have got a project of Web portal develpment with databse backend.
Client is insisting to use Java. I want to use PHP. I would like to put plus as well as minus points of PHP against java and want to convince client to use PHP.
Looking for help.

I want to use PHP since I know it, though I am not expert in it, but am sure that i will get required support from this forum as i have got so far. Also it is very easy and fastest tool to develope databse driven sites.
Client is insisting on java because of it's popularity, that is due to sun's marketing.
Client has not heard of PHP and therefore the problem.
Anyway I have visited sites suggested by all of you and convinced that PHP/PHP4 is not lacking in any respect to any other language.
Once again thanks for contribution.
