XAMPP contains php 5.3.1 while it says 5.5.3 !!

Hi I downloaded XAMPP Mac OS X 1.8.3 PHP 5.5 from Apache friends. It says
    Apache 2.4.4, MySQL 5.6.11, PHP 5.5.3
But when I finish installing php -i says PHP 5.3.1

    What's going on?

    Thanks

    I found out why!

php -i in terminal shows me the php version on Mac Apache2 server,,,,not XAMPP.

I would suspect that xampp only installs PHP as part of apache, and not a command-line version. That or the command-line version you are referencing when typing 'php' refers to a different binary, not the one from xampp.

Run a page via apache with phpinfo() and check the version that way.
Recycle your old CD's, don't just trash them

    Is there a command like
    Code:
    /Applications/XAMPP/etc/ php -i

All of that information was at the apachefriends link that I gave you in your 3 page thread about multiple httpd.conf files.

All of your XAMPP binaries will be in
    Code:
    /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin
so, your php -i command would be
    Code:
    /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/bin/php -i
    for XAMPP's php.

Please do some research for yourself. All of the info you need to work thru all of this is HERE under "Whats Where" section.
