    Hi,
Is there any way in PHP by which I can get all the directory and file names in a particular site by just supplying the Url of that particular site.
Suppose I want to get all the file names of a particular site like www.xyz.com , how can I do that ?

    Pl. reply.

If you mean that you are on the outside of a website (as a web client only with no admin rights) I can see no possibility since PHP is a serverside scripting engine. Another scenario would be that the site would be running PHP and a program that could gather the info on diffrent directories, requested by web users.

Apache (as well as other web servers) can provide directory listings assuming the administrator has enabled that option (typically disabled for security reasons). PHP doesn't necessarily have to enter the picture.

But like Gash said, if you're on the outside looking in, there's little you can do unless the server admin has enabled dir listings.
