    hi,

is there a way to pass a javascript-variable to a php-file without using forms or the url (like "file.html?id=xxx") ? i need to
dynamically change the size of frames based on the user's resolution (thanks to netscape)... or is there a way to directly get the screen resolution using PHP?

You can use cookies... http://developer.netscape.com/docs/m...ef/cookies.htm has more info about using cookies with javascript.
