It would really help if somebody could solve this problem:

In the php3.ini file there is a parameter "magic_quotes_gpc" which causes php to automatically escape all strings transmitted form "Get/Post/Cookies". Since the network administrator may turn this feature off, I'd like to build in a switch in my script which escapes sequences if necessary.
The sense is to keep my db secure from hacking...
Do you know a way to retrive the value of the "magic_quotes_gpc" parameter?

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Javalon,

Try it with: get_magic_quotes_gpc or get_magic_quotes_runtime
and it should do your job.
The result is 0 for off, or 1 for on.
