I am trying to create *fake* drop downs for a site I am doing at the mo, where I would need to show a colour within a drop down, preferably similar to that when scrolling through say a Windows File menu - ie plain colour until you go over the item at which point it changes the background colour in the drop down for that choice. I remember seeing somewhere about dhtml and php3(and there might have been some js in there as well) being able to do this but cannot find it anywhere.
Any pointers well appreciated.
I actually wanted to combine this with MySQL which it doesnt do at the mo, but I'm sure it cant be that hard if I manage to get it to work I'll pop it back up for all.

as an aside - go to http://www.webextractions.f2s.com/java/overlib.html
-do not go to the home page as it takes ages to load - if you mess around with the overlib code you can get it to do wonderous things it is relatively small and very easy to customise - and more importantly does not mess around with any other layers you have knocking about , you can use images in the popups so have a play .
