What I posted.
I installed MySQL/PhP running on linux and apache 1.3.9 and I believe the installation may be faulty. MySQl works fine, but when I test any php script on any of my virtual domains it fails. I made all the recommended changes to httpd.conf, mime.types and I also have frontpage extensions on my virtual domains. Any ideas why my php fails to execute. The directory I copied the php3.ini file is /etc/httpd and php is installed on /usr/local. I have all the recommended libraries installed. If anyone is very familiar with my problem I may even be willing to pay for their services if possible.
Helpful reply, but I am still lost !!
It seems you are building PHP as a module for Apache (php.ini has to be copied with this type of installation). Can you probably try and build Apache with PHP (together)? I did the same configuration on my machine (though I don't have any virtual servers, but that's on the side of Apache, not PHP). Does Apache work fine? Anyway, try to compile Apache with PHP and then if you have mistakes you can probably find the problem more easily.
Good luck, Stas
What I did
Did exactly everything in (../Talk/Forums/Forums/Forum15/HTML/000020.html).i.e. apache 1.3.12 and php.4.0.0. Everything worked great but (11)Uncomment= LoadModule php4_Module libexec/libphp4.so was not in the httpd.conf & (12) AddModule mod_php4.c was no where in the file. I added the lines and couldn't start apache. Without the lines php does not parse but assumes I want to download a file. I am running red-hat Linux 6.1 with apache 1.3.9-4, which I stop and installed apache 1.3.12. The earliar helpful response but I did not find any way to (install apache with php). I have unstalled the new apache and restarted my old apache 1.3.9. and it failed. I also could not find the configure command in the old apache directories like /etc/httpd /etc/httpd/lib /etc/httpd/modules /usr/include/apache /usr/sbin /usr/libexec /etc/httpd/lib/apache /etc/httpd/conf.
Anybody who can help, please reply. I have spent days and nights on getting apache and php to work. I might be doing something awfully wrong. help...help...sos.

Let say you followed 000020.html,
Can you see libphp4.so in /usr/local/apache/libexec/?
>>I also could not find the configure command in the old apache
Yes, it can't be found if you installed the apache 1.3.9-4 RPM.
