Does anyone have any idea how I can use php, or anything for that matter, to get the last modified date of a file stored on a remote server?

The funcion to get it on your own server is timemtime("filename"); but I don't think it works on other servers, just on the server the actual script is on. The are a couple other things, don't know if they would work though, the obvious one would be to create a PHP script on the other server, that would check, but that isn't what you want . You can open connections to other servers with popen, maybe you might be able to open a connection to the server, and call the modified that way, I really have no idea, as you could probably tell .
