Is is possible to use straight up binary picture data pulled from a MySQL database in substitute for the "real" image that this funciton below wants? THANK YOU!
$original = ImageCreateFromGif($img_path);
$original_width = ImageSX($original);
$original_height = ImageSY($original);
$thumb_width = 40;
$thumb_height = 40;
$thumbnail = ImageCreate($thumb_width, $thumb_height);
ImageCopyResized ($thumbnail, $original, 0, 0, 0, 0, $thumb_width, $thumb_height, $original_width, $original_height);

I don't know if that would work....but I'm slightly interested in WHY you'd wanna do that. WHy not just store the file name in the database......or are you trying to do something really spanktastic and 'tricky'?

spanktastic and tricky might be the key. I want the ability to manipulate the data any way possible. I'm getting closer. Right now i'm running into a problem with imagecreate() I think once I get that working I will have it licked. I am currently getting
Call to undefined function: imagecreate()
