Hi does anybody know a good domain name registration script in php that i can use to check if domain names are available and offer an add to basket facility for them. I have seen whois2.php3 but i am looking for more than this script offers.

You're going to have to write it yourself meethinks.
There is not just the issue of having a shopping cart, and then SSL for the purchase, but then doing the registation to the respective naming authority, and allowing for 'collisions' if 2 people try to register the same name, setting up of DNS, if you're offering hosting, setting up the virtualhosts, pop boxes, email forwarding etc......
I only say this because I had to write exactly that for a client late last year (in php), it took 2 months solid and cost a lot of money, I'll be V surprised if you can find something out there that does what you require available for download.
If you don't need the whole sheebang, then there is a wicked whois class on weberdev.net and a number of shopping carts, glue those together and you are at least at the stage of 'buy now'

I agree, its a long process. I wrote the ordering process for our site, this checks for free domain names and stores everything in an online database.
It could do with re-writting but when I get more time I will do it
It depends what you want.
