I have a db with a list of approx. 300 users. I would like create a script to send them email notices, ie: create one email and send to the list. Is this feasible in PHP using the mail( ) function in a loop? Any suggestions on mass mailing your users using php?
Thank you very much!

sendmail (UNIX) is used by the php function mail() and very capable of handling 300 emails in a loop with very little resources used ... now if you start talking thousands of emails being sent in a loop ... probably better to switch to SMTP or some other method ... or batch mailing them

Yeah, I'd go with the batching too, maybe sleep() for a second after n emails sent, that way the server gets time to do other stuff
