I'm new to PHP and want to to something with dynamic graphics.
I have a host who supports PHP.
Problem: if I try to use ImageCreate() or ImageGif() I get call to undefined function error as return.
Could anyone help me out why I get this error ?
Is it possible that my host hasn't the GD library installed ?(although they say they have.
Thanx for help

Either it's not set up correctly, or it's not installed. PHP has to be compiled specifically with the options for graphic manipulation. If they just installed the basic PHP, it's not included.

It also depends on the version of gd. gd-1.6 and higher no longer support creation of GIF files, only jpeg and png. See www.boutell.com/gd for the explanation. Thus you would need to use ImageJpeg() or ImagePng().
The easy way to find out whether gd is installed on your server, and what version, is to create a small PHP file with the code:
Then browse to that file on the web and it will output a page with all the server configuration information.
