I downloaded a script from Hotscripts. The script is mostly in French, I converted everything to english and made some some minor changes so far. I want to make some major changes but I don't want violate any rules. I tried emailing the author but haven't received any responses. There was no docs or license info with the script.
What should be the best way to handle this without stepping on anyones toes. Specifically if I want to redistribute to script with all my mods and enhancements.

Since that is a free script.. nothing wrong in steeling the ideas..you
can re-write that script and add new features..
In my point of you ..their nothing wrong in that.even you have asked the permission
so you don't have to worry about copy right or anything..

I wouldn't worry about toe stepping. It would be nice of you to give credit in the code, and if you improve the original in scope and purpose, mail a copy to the originator, explaining your changes.
