    Whats the best way to filter some text input.
    Say i have ppl putting in text that will be used later in a html page and i want to replace ' in $name with the html equivalant . So it will be displayed ok whats the best way to go about this ?

    Look into htmlentities() or htmlspecialchars(). I think those are what you're looking for.
