It looks like it's in there =P

It's also in Gentoo's Portage (marked ~arch), but you have to emerge the full ebuild, like so:
    Code:
    # emerge /usr/portage/dev-php/mod_php/mod_php-5.0.0.ebuild
and the PHP 4 CLI is a blocker for it so you have to unmerge that then once you get mod_php installed, emerge the PHP 5 CLI and all is well.

I was looking at this thread cause I'm trying to find a good starting point to learn the new php5 syntax (I figure the OOP stuff is roughly the same as in C++/C#) and I just checked out www.php.net and apparently no one mentioned that PHP 5.0.4 is out:

"These are maintenance releases that in addition to non-critical bug fixes address several security issues. All Users of PHP are strongly encouraged to upgrade to one of these releases as soon as possible."

Is there a nicely written PHP4 to PHP5 article out there with brief visits to the different syntactical changes and a review of the implementations of the more advanced OOP features? Just wondering if you guys had come across any before I research it further tonight. I plan to simply check out php.net, Zend's site, and google it through a bit. I haven't really reviewed (recently) the articles mentioned before the stable releases.

    Thanks

This website php.xivix.net has some interesting tutorials on taking advantage of the new Object model in PHP5.

5.1 Beta 2 is out. According to the main page, beta 2 brings a new PDO (PHP Data Objects) layer which provides a native method for database abstraction. Shweet.
