    Create db user - unable to access ??

    Hi

    I created a db user, but I'm not able to access it using telnet from over the network. The superuser I'm able access though.

    [u_hris@woodpecker u_hris]$ psql hris u_hris
    psql: FATAL 1: user "u_hris" does not exist
    [u_hris@woodpecker u_hris]$ psql hris postgres
    Welcome to psql, the PostgreSQL interactive terminal.

    Type: \copyright for distribution terms
    \h for help with SQL commands
    \? for help on internal slash commands
    \g or terminate with semicolon to execute query
    \q to quit

    hris=#
    Any ideas ??

    Thanks & Regards.

    You need to edit pg_hba.conf to set user access.

    Most of your questions can be answered by searching the postgresql.org mailing list.
