Document Managing System using Postgresql
We are using Postgresql as back end and a thick client (omnis studio) as frontend (not web).
Our applications handle projects and we want keep track of associated documents to a project number.
The aim is to find the project within our application and drop the document within the project window. We want Postgresql (alone or together with a parallel nosql database like Cassandra or MongoDB) to create folders on the server and take care of transferring and retrieving the documents back and forth.
Is this possible with Postgresql alone? Or do I have to use other tools. How? Any clues or advises are welcome.
