Does Postgre has unique DBID simililar to Oracle?
Hi Friends,
I am new to PostgreSQL database. I am planning to use it as DB but want to know some basic things & one of them is that, is there any DBID sort of thing available in the PostgreSQL DB similarlly Oracle DB? Like once we install the Oracle DB 10G it generates an uniques DBID which always changes with the fresh installation. Please respond if anyone have any idea about the same. -Regards, Grigo |

I have no idea what the DBID of Oracle is used for.
What do you expect of such an ID? Why do you think you need one in a Postgres installation? |
