PostgreSQL

I've just installed PostgreSQL 8.4 on Windows 7 bootcamp on my MacBook.

I can successfully start the server by right clicking the start server button and using "run as administrator".

When i enter the Command Prompt, and enter "psql postgres User" it returns with: "'psql' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

I'm very new at this, but i'm trying to use the database as practise using a ___.sql file on my desktop.

Helllllp
Much appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly: the error has nothing to do with Postgres as such. It's a simple Windows PATH problem.
Secondly you have shown no sign to find a solution to this very common Windows problem on your own.

I've been googling all day. I've only just got Postgresql working on bootcamp.
Clearly i had no idea it was a path problem otherwise i wouldnt have suggested it was a postgresql problem would i?

I followed 2 detailed guides on google to change the Env Vars with no success, hence posting here.

It seems on this forum people would rather tell you to go away and learn something instead of helping out...

So what exactly did you do? And why didn't you mention that in your initial post?
Changing the PATH on a Windows system isn't that hard really.

See here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310519
Or here: http://java.com/en/download/help/path.xml
Or here: http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000549.htm

(about the first three hits when searching for "change windows PATH variable")
