    PostgreSQL Authentication

    I installed postgresql on Red Hat Linux 8.0, everything works fine.

    Also installed podbc for windows, I noticed that when I try to connect to postgresql databses if I don't provide username or password, can connect to database.

    I need to know if exists a way which forces to validate username and password to connect to postgresql databases.

    I appreciate some help.

    Best Regards.

    Read the comments in your pg_hba.conf file, and read the documentation on Client Authentication. Probably you are using the "trust" method, which is the least secure.
    The real n-tier system:

    FreeBSD -> PostgreSQL -> [any_language] -> Apache -> Mozilla/XUL
