    Question Making PostgreSQLTCP/IP Connections

    I'm new at PostgreSQL, I installed and started database server on Red Hat Linux 8.0, made a test using psql and everything works fine.

    This is my problem. I got Win 32 clients, I try to made a connection using jdbc from Win 32 clients.

    Java code return an exception which tells me that Postgre does not accept TCP/IP connections on port 5432.

    I tried to correct this problem editing postgresql.conf file, I changed following values:

    tcpip_socket = true
    ssl = true
    port = 5432

    I restarted service, but I got same trouble.

    Does somebody know what's my problem?

    I appreciate some help.

    Best Regards

    Is this a separate issue from your post here?

    Have you checked the firewall configuration on the RH 8 box?
