Power outage, now can't start Postgres
Well, not sure exactly how it happened but there was a power outage in our server room which despite backup power took down the web servers and db server (yup, today's going to be fun).
Anyways, postgres won't start on the db server (of course that's the only server we need it to run on). The box is running pg 7.1.3. Manual invocations of the /etc/init.d/postgresql startup script fail. I found this link which I thought would solve my problem, however after deleting the postmaster.pid file it still fails when running the startup script.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. We do have db dumps, however I'd prefer not to have to go that route.
