    stored procedure


    can postgresql stored procedure(function) store recordsets?
    if not, how can I get around it.

    I think he means like a PL/SQL local table in Oracle. No, you can't make a fake table in plpgsql and put stuff in it. But if you use plperl you could make a hash or use/create a similar perl construct to temporarily create your table. If, in the (likely) case that you will need this view again, create a view explicitly in the database, OR create a new and exciting relation that is filled by trigger procedures that will give you a happy, fast, and less cluttered design.
