    importing XML into postgreSQL database

Hi! I am wondering if anyone out there has done such a task before, and if so what tools they used to do it? Right now I am going to have to write something myself, which is fine, but it would be cool if anyone has any hints or helpful ideas about this process. Right off the bat I am thinking of either using perl because it has modules for XML (and actually also for LaTeX parsing), or Java because I can do data binding with java and then the insertion into the database will at least be easier... however this sort of java programming seems like it would be very time-consuming. Any help on this topic would be great!

    Thanks,

    j

You might want to check out the XpSQL project.

Other than this, I would agree that Perl is your best bet.
