    Array

    assembly x86

    Code:
    buffer db 4, 4 dup(00)

what i know is that the first 4 is setting the max size of the array/buffer. what does the second 4 means?

it means fill the buffer with 4 zeros
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper
