    GVIM 7.3 Compiler

I use the GVIM 7.3 compiler and I was wondering if anyone knew how to insert line numbers. I have tried and failed.

GVIM is not a compiler....it's a text editor.

I seem to find my self deeper and deeper in the dark here.

The text editor is where the code is written and saved is that correct? and then when I use the gcc command in the cmd pane that's where its compiled?

Would you have a suggestion of a combined text editor and compiler

    Thanks
