Help with developing this program. I just can't get it right.
I want to create a program that will prompt for the information of a customerís purchase, whether it is an upfront payment or credit payment or to pay off a previously credited customerís balance. For upfront payments, the program will read and store the records of the purchase (customer name, the price, and purchased item) and add it to the total sales. For credit payments, the program will read and store the records of the purchase (telephone number, address, email address, the credited item, the price and the customerís name). As the balance is paid off by the customer, the program will subtract the amount the customer paid to pay off their remaining balance and then add whatever amount they paid off to the total sales.
I wonder if I should do this using files. Could you help please?

yes.it is a good idea to do with files.your question itself contains necessary details to start programming.so what are you waiting for.it also requires good handling of if else or conditional statements.

Files are useful.
Start by storing the source code or plan into a file.
[/code] are essential for python code and Makefiles!
