I have never created an InstallShield and I was wondering if the InstallShield that comes with VS 6.0 can automaticly determine the dependencies for an executable. Thanks.

Try out Dependency Walker. It can pick up both DLLs and ActiveX objects.
Word of caution though: It will show dependencies on win32.dll, gdi32.dll and user32.dll, as well as possibly ole32.dll. Don't include these files. These are core Windows files that you don't want to package up with your program. When I was building my first installation packages I didn't know about the core system files and made that mistake. Generally it takes a near full system reinstall to correct this problem, and that's not going to make your customers happy.
I talk about a lot of these tools over at Lazarus Notes. Among the other useful things I have are articles on new installation builders.
