    Windows API Examples

I just started my Computer Sceince course, it is a little boring for me so I want to do a little programming with the Windows API.

I am looking for some examples and tutorials, as well as places that list each command and what it does. I have been at the MSDN Library, but it is a giant pain to navigate.

Does anyone know of any good resources? If not, I will just force myself to have the patience to use the MSDN Library.

    Thanks.

This is good: http://www.winprog.org/tutorial/ but you should learn the fundamentals of C/C++ before learning API.

There are some more tutorials here:
    http://sunlightd.virtualave.net/Windows/
    http://www.relisoft.com/win32/winnie.html
You can try searching for more on Google.

However, if you already know C, I recommend buying the classic Programming Windows, Fifth Edition by Charles Petzold. None of the above tutorials gets into the depth that Petzold does, which really allows you to understand what is going on. Highly recommended.

    Thanks for the links.

I know a bit of c++ programming, I am not looking to do anything advanced yet, just when my class is using console output, I want to use a GUI and other windows features. I am much further along then the rest of the class, and since it is a first year course it is very basic.
