Free Pascal - program for beginners

    Hello,

I am having difficulty in figuring out a way to do this program:

Write a program that examines how many rows there are on the result window and how many symbols you can write in one row that I can see on my monitor.

I translated this from another language and I hope I translated it clearly.
Do you have any ideas how to create such program like that?
    Thank you in advance..

OK, I haven't written a pascal program for 30 years.

Maybe you can learn something from

Some terminal emulators feed back when the display size changes. Gnome terminal which I'm using to run xboard at FICS (free internet chess server) does, for instance. I think it's standard, however.
