On understanding changelogs
I've read several changelogs and was wondering, every so often there's a thank you note or other similar entry that says "Code base cleanup," what does that mean? I mean, if you dirty up the code while modifying it shoulden't you remove the unused/dirty code immediatly vs waiting for someone else to do so?

Cleanup can take all manner of forms.
Rather than just read the changelog, why not do a "diff" to see what actual changes were made, to get an idea of what people mean by cleanup.

First of all, because I don't have an older version of the code. Second, I'm trying to figure out the definition of the term, not what changes were made to the code.
