Exclamation Visual Code Studio: HELP!!

I am taking my first baby steps into learning coding. I have found a book and resources that start me out with the basics of coding. It wants me to start a command to display words on the screen via Cout. I input all the commands exactly as it says, but now I am confused to the next step. After I opened a file and saved it as Sample.exe I do not understand where to go from there. It spits out errors when I attempt to debug it via C++ and a compiler? I do not understand the steps into this. Any help would be massively appreciated!!

The source code--that's the part you wrote with an editor--should be called
    Sample.cxx
or something like that. The compile then link stages produce the Sample.exe file.

Maybe someone else has a clue as to your trouble. You've got my guess.
Code tags
are essential for python code and Makefiles!
